The U Thant Institute is honored to initiate a The Environmental Peace Project. The Progject's mission is to promote a global understanding of the importance of protecting the environment, of how the environment affects our lives, and of how environment conservation can preserve our natural resources and help build a path to peace. Drawing from ethical and moral values of U Thant, the third Secretary-General of the United Nations, the project will also address environmental ethics and justice and will train future leaders to promote moral discourse when addressing local and national issues with environmental implications.
