On Sunday, May 23, 2010, The U Thant Institute will host its sixth annual Ambassadors' Luncheon at the Shore and Country Club in Norwalk, Connecticut. The keynote speaker, Dr. Rajendra Pachauri, will give his thoughts on The Economics of Climate Change in Southeast Asia. Registration is at 12 noon, and the luncheon will start promptly at 1pm.

Nobel Prize winner warns about global climate change

Global climate change is an issue that is not going away anytime soon, and a Nobel Peace Prize-winning researcher says the effects cannot be limited to any one region of the planet.

Dr. Rajendra K. Pachauri spoke to about 100 people at the 6th annual Ambassadors' Luncheon for the U Thant Institute at the Shore and Country Club on Sunday afternoon.

Local Couple Honored at Ambassadors Luncheon

Westport, May 25 (U Thant Institute) -- Connie and Stewart Greenfield were honored with Special Appreciation Gifts at the U Thant Institute's annual luncheon at the Shore and Country Club in Norwalk on Sunday. Both Greenfields are trustees of the Institute, which was founded by Aye Aye Thant, daughter of the late Secretary-General and a Westport resident.

Stewart Greenfield was honored for his "exceptional support of the mission of The U Thant Institute and for his contributions and efforts in actively advocating environmental causes both locally and internationally to advance peace," and Connie Greenfield for her "dedicated commitment in supporting the mission of The U Thant Institute and improving the quality of life in the community and the world."
