Happy New Year!

New Year was celebrated in Myanmar on Tuesday, April 17, after the five-day Thingyan water festival. The atmosphere at the beginning of this New Year has been particularly joyous as many positive changes can be both felt and seen. Daw Aye Aye Thant has given a few interviews, including a talk about education and her father’s role and world vision at a prestigious organization called “PYINNYA TAZAUNG” Association where her father was the first president sixty years ago and their members are from all sectors of education. She has even appeared on the front cover of the area newspapers!

Following her mother’s tradition, Daw Aye Aye Thant and her family bought two cows, a family of goats, and chickens from a slaughter house and freed them on New Year’s Day in 60-acre park reserved for the animals.
